Eindhoven, Netherlands – Royal Philips Electronics (AEX: PHI, NYSE: PHG) has extended the scope of its Fortimo family of LED downlight modules. These modules have been specifically designed for use as a functional light source in luminaires for general lighting in professional applications. Their high-energy efficiency, high light output, stable colour performance and good colour rendering create a perfect downlight solution for office, hospitality, retail and outdoor applications. The three new additions offer luminaire manufacturers a more flexible, broader range.
The Fortimo LED DLM 3000K system offers a choice of colour temperature for a warmer or cooler colour appearance.
The Fortimo LED DLM Independent driver makes luminaire design and installation easier as the driver – with its independent housing – can be placed separately from the luminaire.
The Fortimo LED DLM dimmable system is suitable for use with DALI-based control systems and can increase system efficiency by up to 30%. It can also be used to connect up active cooling systems or create decorative LED effects.
Future assured
The Fortimo LED DLM system is future-proof: the latest advances in LED efficacy can be easily implemented without changing the driver, the dimensions of the LED module or the lumen output. This means stability for luminaire manufacturers and reassurance for lighting designers and specifiers that the Fortimo LED DLM will remain available for their projects in years to come.
Further additions to the range are scheduled in the course of 2009.
Europe-wide training program
The launch of these three new solutions comes on the back of an extensive Fortimo and Lexel LED modules training program that has been rolled out across Europe in recent months. Hosted by Philips Lighting OEM, and supported by Nuventix and Alux Luxar, suppliers of complementary heat sink and reflector technologies, the program – including 16 seminars attended by some 480 OEMs in 14 countries – has been a resounding success.
