April, 2009, Eindhoven, Netherlands – Philips is to launch a unique LED-based solution for both general and decorative lighting needs, which creates an almost endless variety of lighting atmospheres from a single source.
Unique and highly flexible, the Philips Lexel LED DLM platform is suitable for a whole range of applications – from static functional lighting to beautiful dynamic illumination. The system is very easy to control and its use of LED technology ensures low energy consumption combined with a long lifetime
Lexel covers color temperatures from 2700 K to 6500 K with a color rendering index of Ra >80 over the entire range. This makes it perfect for any downlighting application in buildings, and meets all European legislative requirements.
The system’s flexibility will be a creative boon to lighting designers and lighting architects, especially those working in retail and hospitality environments. Here, Lexel’s dynamic RGB programming will enable the creation of decorative and architectural lighting effects to add to the ambience.
The source of this one-size-fits-all solution is a small LED module, offering freedom of luminaire design with a dedicated LED driver. It is fully dimmable and delivers 100% instant light from the moment it’s switched on.
The Lexel LED DLM requires a DMX driver for color composition; and is therefore fully compatible with Philips ColourChaser. Light sensors in each Lexel module guarantee uniform light when multiple Lexel systems are connected.
